Job Duties, Responsibilities, Qualifications, and Requirements

Job Summary

The Director of Finance is responsible for financial reporting, the accounting activities of the department, information technologies, security and facilities operations.

 

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

·      Manages the accounting, payroll, IT staff and IT consultants, and facilities/security staff.

·      Recruits, hires, and conducts performance evaluations.

·      Manages the company’s financial accounts, payroll, budget, cash receipts, and financial assets.

·      Establishes internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation.

·      Prepares monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

·      Prepares annual budgets.

·      Responsible for contract administration and reporting to funding sources.

·      Produces program and department reports to Program Directors.

·      Audits accounts to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations; coordinates with outside auditors and provides needed information for the annual external audit.

·      Provides financial analysis with an emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.

·      Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.

·      Evaluates information systems to maximize efficiencies.

·      Responsible for maintaining corporate insurance policies.

·      Attendance at Board of Trustee meetings and presentation of financial statements.

·      Supervise and/or carry out facilities operations, including bidding and contracting of facilities improvements.

·      Supervise security operations.

 

 

Qualifications

·      Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

·      Excellent organizational and time management skills.

·      Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office.

·      Careful attention to details, deadlines, and follow-through.

·      Thorough knowledge of and experience with financial and information systems and the ability to communicate that knowledge.

·      Supervisory experience.

·      Experience working in the non-profit industry.

 

 

Education And/or Experience

·      Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance

·      Eight or more years of related experience; non-profit experience preferred

·      Supervisory experience
